Dandakaio - Welcome to paradise
About Carriacou

Carriacou (meaning 'isle of reefs') is located in the Eastern Caribbean, 12° north of the equator, outside of the hurricane belt and approximately 23 miles northeast of Grenada.

It is part of the tri-island state of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

It has many beaches, pristine coves and countless outlying uninhabited islands.

Carriacou's interior consists of wooded mountainous terrain giving spectacular views towards Grenada to the south and the rest of the Grenadine islands to the north.

Removed from the beaten tourist track you can easily enjoy the local culture the island has to offer as well as some privacy and seclusion.

Carriacou, at just 13 square miles and with a population of approximately 6,000 people, is the largest and most southern island in the Grenadines - the small island chain between St Vincent and Grenada where some of the most exclusive island destinations in the world, including Mustique, the playground for the rich and famous, are hidden away.

Unspoilt and culturally rich. Carriacou has often been described by many travel writers as an "uncut diamond".

Walter Robinson II prefers to place Carriacou "Next To Heaven".

Average annual temperatures

Carriacou enjoys year-round sunshine with a warm, tropical climate tempered by cooling tradewinds. The average temperature is over 25ºC (80ºF) all year round.  On average, there are over 8 hours sun per day all year round.

The 'high' season in the Caribbean is generally considered to be mid-December to April. The 'rainy' season can occur any time between July and December, when rainfall and humidity can increase. The most likely month for hurricanes is September.
